Judith A. "Judy" Arthurs, 82, of Altoona, died Friday afternoon at her residence. She was born in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Earl Joseph and Esther Marie (Lamison) Miller.
She married Richard W. "Dick" Arthurs on Jan. 26, 1968, in Altoona. He preceded her in death Oct. 16, 2023.
Surviving are her son, Kevin S. Arthurs, and his fiancee, Heather Haines, of Altoona; two granddaughters, Abigail M. Arthurs (Bruce Krestar Jr.) of Altoona and Morgan G. Arthurs (Dylan Donovan) of Pittsburgh; a sister, Vicki Miller of Altoona; and numerous extended family members.
Judy was preceded in death by an infant great-grandchild, Charlie; and two sisters, Patty Miller and Connie Miller.
Mrs. Arthurs was an active member of Second Avenue Global Methodist Church, Altoona.
She was a 1960 graduate of Altoona High School.
She retired in 2001 as a self-employed child daycare owner/operator following 30 years' service.
Judy enjoyed gardening, word-search puzzles and her church, but she most especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Brian Sandell officiating. The family has requested everyone wear yellow, as that was Judy's favorite color.
Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations please be made to the R.O.C.K. program at Second Avenue Global Methodist Church, 130 Second Ave., Altoona, PA 16602.
