Ella M. Martin, 75, of Martinsburg, passed away unexpectedly on Monday at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring. She was born in Leola, Lancaster County, a daughter of the late David and Hettie (Martin) Zimmerman.
She was united in marriage to Ammon Z. Martin on Nov. 26, 1970.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years; six sons and five daughters: Mervin (MaryAnn) of Martinsburg, Marian (LaVern) Zeiset in Wisconsin, Ammon Jr. (Cora) in Wisconsin, Justus (the late Jane) of Martinsburg, David (Marlene) of Martinsburg, Elva (Raymond) Fox in Wisconsin, Rufus (Susan) of New Enterprise, Eldon (Martha) of Martinsburg, Ruth (Paul) Martin of New Enterprise, Marie (Roy) Zimmerman of New Enterprise and Lucy (Timothy) Zimmerman of New Enterprise; 62 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Noah (Lizzie) of Roaring Spring and Daniel (Erla) of Shippensburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; a sister; and a great-granddaughter.
Ella was a member of Martinsburg Old Order Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference).
She was a homemaker, and together with her husband, they founded Peach Hill Orchard in 1972.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025, at her residence (1360 Curryville Road, Martinsburg).
A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, at Martinsburg Old Order Mennonite Church. Interment will be at the adjoining church cemetery.
