Eleanor Baker

June 17, 1936 – Sept. 8, 2025

Eleanor Baker was called home to be with the Lord on Sept. 8, 2025, at the age of 89. While we mourn her earthly passing, we rejoice in the knowledge that she has entered her eternal reward in the arms of her savior, Jesus Christ.

Born June 17, 1936, in Colver, she was the daughter of Florest V. and Pearl (Weekes) Gobert.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald P. Baker; sister, Dora Rosian; and son-in-law, Robert Johnson.

She is survived by children: Denise Johnson, Sharon (Micheal) Wharton, Dean (Margaret) Baker, Janine (Michael) Strasser and Christine (Robert) Trexler; grandchildren: Stephanie Kuhn, Daniel (Megan) Vasil, Amanda (Matthew) Massaro, Nathaniel (Lauren) Wharton, Andrea Wharton, Hiro (Erin) McNulty, Adam (Chelsea) Strasser, Zachary Strasser and Sara (Kyle) Perettine; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Eleanor was a graduate of Patton High and was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the church choir, United Methodist Women and was a Sunday school teacher. She also volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul, Prayer Stitchers and her Bible study group. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, gardening, watching grandchildren in activities and spending time with her loving family.

Family and friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Sept. 11, 2025, at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 Fifth Ave., Patton.

There will be additional visitation from 10 until 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service by Pastor Gary Grau on Sept. 12, 2025, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 501 Beech Ave., Patton.
