Calvin R. Blontz Jr., 77, of Antis Township, died unexpectedly on Saturday at his home. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Calvin R. and Edna May (Watson) Blontz.
On May 23, 1981, he married Eileen C. Kuhn at St. Richard Catholic Church, Blandburg. She preceded him in death on July 2, 2018.
Surviving are two sons, Kevin "Joe" (Mary) of Altoona and David ofBethlehem; two grand-children, Kevin Joseph (Marissa) and Kristen M. (fiancee, Katie Mountain) Blontz; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Calvin retired as a courier at Altoona Hospital.
He attended St. Mark Catholic Church, Altoona.
Calvin enjoyed baseball and attending high school football games. He could often be seen with Tim Berkstresser delivering camper rentals or with Aaron delivering flowers around the holidays.
He was also known for helping his friends and former coworkers with rides to their doctors or other needed appointments.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood.
A funeral service outside of Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Pleva officiating.
Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
