Shirley Ann Shannon, 90, of Altoona, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Aug. 11, 2025, following an extended illness.
She was born on April 20, 1935, in Frostburg, Md., daughter of the late George and Anna (Richardson) Petenbrink. She married Jerome H. Shannon, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are her six children: Kathleen, Gregory, Jeffrey, Brenda, Patrick and Mark;
11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers: Ronald, Paul and William; and two sisters, Sondra and Emma.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Douglas and Brian; and by two brothers, George Jr. "Bob" and James "Jim."
Shirley was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Altoona. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Family and friends will be received on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service at the funeral home, with Father Michael Pleva, officiant.
