Ronald Calvin Hershey, 81, of Altoona, passed away Friday at Midtown Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Calvin J. and Ruth (Evans) Hershey.
Surviving are four sons: Jeffery Hershey (Trish), Shane M. Hershey, Sean Hershey and Christopher Hershey (Holly); a sister, Carol Paul (Bill); and five grandchildren: Ethan, Kara, Theoron, Owen and Zoey.
He was preceded in death by his long-time companion, Mary.
Ronald worked at Conrail for many years, and then opened Hershey Motors in Altoona, retiring after many years of ownership. He also worked part time at NAPA in Altoona.
Ron had a real passion for automobiles, always having unique and classic vehicles to drive or work on.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date by the family.
