Helen Ehgartner, 68, of Altoona, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Altoona to Drex and Teresa (Brennan) McCall.
In addition to her parents, Helen is survived by the love of her life, David Ehgartner, whom she married on June 8, 2013, at Jacobs Church in Hesston; as well as her loving sister, Cindy L. (Jim) Cline of Naples, Fla.; and her beloved stuffed bears, Snowball and Lucille.
Helen was Catholic by faith and a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.
She was also a member of Cesare Battisti Club.
Helen graduated from Altoona Area High School in 1975 and attended Mount Aloysius College to obtain an associate's degree.
She was an active Republican committee woman and served as a judge of elections. She also volunteered at the Republican office.
Helen enjoyed fishing, boating, staying at "The Cottage" at Raystown and enjoyed the sounds and sightings of wildlife in her yard. Helen had a passion and love of dogs. She also loved playing the lottery with her mother, Teresa.
A private visitation will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
