Gerald Lee Friday, 85, formerly of Tyrone, died Wednesday in King, N.C. He was born in Tyrone, a son of the late Oliver and Gladys M. (Fink) Friday.
He was married to Susan L. (Wise) Friday.
Surviving are his wife, Susan; and children: Donna Keefauver, Melinda Friday and Patricia Trout; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rachel Lynn.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Friday; and a brother, Donald C. Friday.
Growing up, Gerald attended Christ United Methodist Church.
He was a 1957 graduate of Tyrone High School. He went on to Williamson Trade School and then to Penn State University, receiving a bachelor's degree in education. He taught at Dauphin County Vocational School for 34 years.
Gerald always enjoyed woodworking, antiquing and toy trains. He sang with several Christian music groups, including the Messengers and El Shaddai.
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone. The Rev. James House will officiate. Interment will follow at Bald Eagle Cemetery.
