Doris J. Waite, 95, of Tyrone, passed away Sunday. She was born in Tyrone, a daughter of the late Edward R. and Edith K. (Wertz) Neil.
On May 30, 1952, at First English Lutheran Church, she married Donald J. Waite, who preceded her in death on June 25, 2011.
Surviving are her daughter, Dawn Ann Covino, and husband, Jeff, of Altoona; two grandsons, Daniel (Hannah) and Michael (Shannon); and three great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Margaret Updike.
Mrs. Waite was a 1948 graduate of Tyrone High School. She retired in 1991 after owning and operating a beauty salon in her home.
She was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Tyrone.
Doris enjoyed sewing, baking, ceramics and reading, but what she loved most of all was spending time with her family, especially her grandsons and great-grandsons.
Services for Doris J. Waite will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
