Denise R. (Moudy) Hoover, 74, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Wednesday. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Frederick and Ellen Louise (Dishong) Moudy. She married Homer Hoover, who preceded her in death in 2017 after sharing 34 years of marriage.
Surviving are a son, Clay Cameron of Hollidaysburg; three grandchildren: Sela, Rain, and Cagney; a sister, Marsha Moudy Riley; a brother, Daniel Moudy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Denise graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1969, and Penn State University.
She retired from the Altoona School District, where she taught Home Economics at Keith Junior High School and Altoona High School for 32 years.
Denise was a member of Carson Valley Church of the Brethren.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, Steeler and PSU football, and spoiling her grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 2, 2025, and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11 am with Pastor Bradley Runkle officiating.
Private interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.
