Connie L. Shultz

Connie L. Shultz, 93, a resident of Homewood in Martinsburg, previously of Altoona, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Adam and Ima (Earnest) Gonter.

She was first married to the late Lyle Nabors. On Sept. 21, 1997, she married the late Daniel G. Shultz, who preceded her in death on July 31, 2020.

Surviving are her daughters, Pauline (Lawrence) Bowers and Nanette (Charles) Nabors-Hidalgo of Fort Myers, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Deborah Santella and Diane Shultz, both of Altoona; and two grandsons.

Connie was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Robert Gonter; and two sisters, Bettie Smith and Florence Confer.

Connie was a 1950 graduate of Altoona High School and retired after working in the sales department for Altoona Pipe and Steel.

She enjoyed reading, attending Altoona Curve baseball games and attending gospel music concerts.

For many years, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Homewood Living in Martinsburg, where

Connie had resided for the last five years.

Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, at Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home, 1520 Fourth St., Altoona. Interment will take place at Alto-Reste Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Connie's memory to the Altoona Public Library.
