Blair D. Umholtz, 74, of Bellwood, died Thursday afternoon at his home. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Joseph C. and
Priscilla V. (Burk) Umholtz. On April 10, 1970, he married Lillian E. Davinsizer at Calvary United Methodist Church, Bellwood.
Blair is survived by his wife; two children, Lisa (Tom) Gutshall of Riggles Gap and Steven L. of Altoona; three grandchildren: Aric,
Joshua and Lillian; his siblings, Robert H. Umholtz and Lois A. Umholtz; and a special niece raised in their home after the death of
her father, Elizabeth (Davinsizer) Pasquenilli.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph L. Blair was a 1968 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He was employed in the maintenance department at Martin Oil Company, Bellwood.
He was a lifetime member of Bavarian Aide Society, Altoona.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and flower and vegetable gardening. He enjoyed rock and toll and country music, especially Johnny Cash tunes.
A connoisseur of fine food, Blair would travel around to various restaurants to eat and enjoy fine dining.
His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and "his million dollar family."
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood. A celebration of Blair's life will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Eli Hess officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
The family suggests that contributions in Blair's memory be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
