In loving memory of Betty I. (Smith) Gorsuch, born in Gallitzin to Paul A. and Mary E. (Yingling) Smith. She was the eldest of three daughters. She was a lifelong resident of Duncansville, but spent her last years at Garvey Manor per her request. She never wanted to be a burden to anyone, especially her family, a true testament to her selflessness.
Betty received her angel wings Sunday. She was fortunate enough to be able to receive loving thoughts from her daughters and their families from near and far before passing. She loved receiving pictures and messages from family members on her Kindle to always have something to brighten her days, always welcoming visits and calls to keep her up to date on activities.
She is survived by four daughters, Pamela Rodgers in New Mexico, Kimberly Gorsuch, Cheryl Megahan (Robert) and Phyllis Kephart (Casey), all residing in Pennsylvania; grandchildren: Darian (Mark), Coby (Logan), Nicholas, Lillian, William and Madigan; and great-grandchildren, Belladonna, Lucian and Nevada.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Paulette; and former husband, Charles Gorsuch.
We will miss sharing stories, laughs, and making memories with her, but know that "It will be OK" (One of her favorite sayings), taking comfort she is with the Lord and is soaring with the angels, watching over us all.
As requested by Betty, there will be no services, but asking one and all to cherish and appreciate the moments of life.
Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Duncansville.
