Barbara Ann (Williams) Ramper, 88, of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Wood, Pa., passed away peacefully in her sleep June 28, 2025, at UPMC Altoona after a brief battle with heart failure. She was born in Defiance, daughter of the late Gussie Williams and Anna Genevieve "Dade" (Heath) Williams.
Barbara attended school in Robertsdale and married Donald Eugene "PeeWee" Ramper on Dec. 28, 1953.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son, Wesley Ramper; granddaughter, Logan Ramper; and sister, Verdith Mykut.
Barbara is survived by her three children: Donald Eugene Ramper Jr. and his wife, Robin, of Hagerstown, Md., and their children: Magda (Maggie) Waldron, Keenya Maddox and JoAnn Daniels; Cindy Musser and her husband, Jeff, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and their children, Brandon and Paul Musser; and Lesa Dively and her husband, Scott, of Hollidaysburg, and their children, Courtney Lane and Tanner Lashinsky. She also leaves behind siblings: Sydney Dick, Linda Macksinchak and Erwin Williams; along with nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy.
Throughout her life, Barbara was a devoted homemaker and caregiver who touched many lives with her warmth, kindness and generosity. She was well known for her cooking, especially her signature dishes and desserts, and had a passion for service and community involvement.
Barbara was a lifetime member and past president of the Society of Farm Women of Pennsylvania. She had served as vice president of the American Legion Auxiliary Watson and Black Post 126 and was a longtime director of the Pennsylvania Lions Club MD14.
Despite never holding a driver's license, she enjoyed traveling extensively by bus tours with friends.
Her final act of generosity was the gift of life through organ donation.
A graveside service and celebration of life luncheon will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, at the IOOF Cemetery in Broad Top, officiated by Pastor Jeffrey Musser.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Broad Top Food Bank, a cause close to Barbara's heart.
