Sandra L. Smith, 90, of Roaring Spring, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born in Woodvale, Pa., the daughter of the late Ralphard and Leila (Dixon) Black.

She was twice married: first to Glen Worthing and then to Donald I. Smith, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by three children: Kevin Smith and wife, Kelly, of New Enterprise; Elaine Snively and husband, Bill, of Martinsburg; and Julie Maher and husband, Cory, of Roaring Spring; five grandchildren: Deanna Replogle, Brock Snively, Kadden Smith, Kyler Smith and Jake Maher; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Marlene Putt of Everett; a brother, Allen Black and wife, Sandy, of Celina, Tenn.; a nephew, Trampas Hobble and wife, Michele, and their children: Hunter, Trapper and Fisher of Three Springs; and a special friend and sidekick, Ken Klotz of Roaring Spring, whom she had many memories with.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralphard Black; and a sister, Linda Hobble.

Sandra was a member of Woodbury Church of the Brethren.

She graduated from Saxton-Liberty High School in 1953 and retired from Cove Surgical with more than 50 years of service.

Sandra loved racing and was a loyal season ticket holder to both Port Royal and Williams Grove Speedways. She had a passion for traveling and taking cruises all over the world.

Sandra was a very loving and generous person with her family and church family. She had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at noon on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Woodbury Church of the Brethren, with Pastor David Scott officiating. Interment will be made at Dry Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sandra’s memory may be given to Woodbury Church of the Brethren.
