Ronald E. Kensinger, 78, of Martinsburg, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Paul and Helen (Appleman) Kensinger.

On Aug. 14, 1965, he married Lois Burket, who survives him.

Ron was a 1964 graduate of Central High School. He was a proud charter member of the Martinsburg Jaycees and a member of Iron Masters Country Club. Throughout the years, Ron dedicated his time and skills to many community projects, including those at Hershberger Memorial Pool and The Ronald E. Kensinger Memorial Courts, named in his honor.

He retired in 2016 as a foreman for Lawruk Builders, where he was respected for his leadership and work ethic. In his free time, Ron enjoyed golfing, working in his wood shop and countless hunting and fishing trips with close friends. He was also a devoted member of Martinsburg Memorial Church of the Brethren.

In addition to his wife, Lois, Ron is survived by two daughters, Kristine (Richard) Shunk of Martinsburg and Kimberly (Gregory) Stoudnour of State College; his cherished granddaughter, Ashley (Mark) Banks of Dillsburg; and his brother, Steven Kensinger of Martinsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters: Pauline (John) McConahy, Audrey (Jack) Hite, Donna (Dean) Smith and Doris (Edward) Henry; and his brother, Donnie (Wanda) Kensinger.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Home Health and Family Hospice for their compassionate and excellent care.

Ron will be remembered for his dedication to family, his strong work ethic and his love for the community. His kindness, quiet strength and the many friendships he cultivated will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2025, at Martinsburg Memorial Church of the Brethren; and from 11 a.m. until the noon funeral service Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the church, with Mr. Eric Martin officiating. Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
