Michelyn B. Hatch, 71, of Martinsburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away Sunday at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring. She was born in Woodbury, daughter of the late Arlan D. and Dolores J. (Pepple) Barkman.
Michelyn taught Foreign Language (Spanish and French) for Williamsburg Community School District for 35 years. Afterwards, she worked for her family's business in Woodbury, Barkman Oil Co.
Michelyn was an avid reader, especially with her Kindle.
She was preceded in death by a nephew, Alex Barkman.
Surviving are her husband, Richard J. Hatch; brother, Dirk Barkman (Marcia) of Martinsburg; brother, Lance Barkman (Tammy) of Roaring Spring; and nieces and nephews, Dr. Kiel Barkman, Kella Boyer (Landon) and Logan Barkman.
Friends will be received from 9:45 until the 10:30 a.m. Celebration of Life Memorial Service Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Bice Memorial Chapel, Homewood at Martinsburg, with Pastor Jerry McCuller officiating.
