Lillian Ilian, 100, of Altoona, died Monday at Graystone Manor at Bellmeade. She was born in Riggles Gap, daughter of the late Charles and Fannie (Moryken) Highduch.
Lillian moved to New York City with her sisters in search of employment in the big city. She worked at Bulova Watch Co.
She met and fell in love with Guenter Ilian. She married Guenter on Sept. 26, 1966, in Whitestone, N.Y. They moved back to Altoona in 1991 to enjoy retirement. Guenter preceded her in death on June 26, 2011.
Lillian was preceded in death by all her siblings: four sisters and three brothers.
Lillian was a beautiful lady. She was a gourmet cook and loved to bake. She loved her cats, the outdoors and had a heart of gold.
Lillian's smile could light up a room.
Lillian did not have any children of her own. She had many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom she loved with all her heart. Her loving memory will remain in their hearts forever.
Private services were held at the convenience of the family with interment at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
Arrangements were by Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., Altoona.
