Joyce J. Mock, 91, a resident at the Presbyterian Village in Hollidaysburg, formerly of Roaring Spring, died Tuesday at the home. She was born in Roaring Spring, the daughter of the late Grace (Mentzer) Strong.
She married Alvin J. "Jack" Mock Sr. on Nov. 10, 1951, in Loysburg. He died Feb. 23, 2006.
She is survived by four children: Alvin J. "Jack" Mock Jr. and wife, Peggy, of Williamsburg; Michael E. Mock and wife, Lisa, of Roaring Spring; Barb Greenleaf and husband, Robert Jr., of Martinsburg; Lori Burke and husband, Jay, of Roaring Spring; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patty Gagermeier of Johnstown.
She was preceded in death by two sons, David W. and Barry A. Mock; a brother, Bill Strong; a sister, Christine Weitzel; an infant sister, Diana Strong; and her aunt and uncle, Bill and Betty Mentzer.
Joyce attended First Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring.
She retired from the Spring Cove School District Cafeteria and had previously worked at Cove Shoe, Blair Press and the Eldon Inn.
She enjoyed baking, crafts, flower gardening and especially loved spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2025, at First Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the church, with Pastor Dave Crumrine and Pastor Stewart McClelland. Interment will be made at Greenlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to First Church of the Brethren, 901 Bloomfield St., Roaring Spring, PA 16673.
