Jeffrey Allen Crum Stevens
July 15, 2025
Jeffrey Allen “Jeff” Crum Stevens, 58 of Altoona went home to be with his mother on Tuesday in Sayre. He was born and raised in Altoona, where he lived the remainder of his life.
Jeff is survived by two children: son, Mitchell (Jaslyn); and daughter, Alaina (fiance Nathan Lightner). He was blessed with six granddaughters: Mariah, Madelynn, Myla, Makenna, Stella and Maylie; and a grandson, Ryan. He considered all these children to be the biggest blessings of his lifetime.
The oldest of three sons, Jeff is also survived by his younger brothers, Vince (Nancy Stiffler) and Jason; his niece, Amanda; his loving girlfriend, Cheryl Miller; longtime friends, Andy Smith (Cheryl); and his former wife, Kathy.
After he graduated from Altoona Area High School in 1986, he attended Gleim Technical Institute. It was there he earned a certificate as a heavy equipment operator. Jeff also obtained a Class A Commercial Drivers License from Smith Transport. He worked in construction and was employed as a professional tractor trailer driver. He was also a school bus driver.
Jeff was always helping someone. As a family, we take solace in knowing that even though his life is ending, he will give life to someone else through his gift of organ donation.
Jeff was a larger-than-life figure to many and he will be dearly missed.
Friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 408 N. Sixth St., Altoona, where a Celebration of Life will begin at 6 p.m., with the Rev. Eli Hess officiating.
Arrangements are by Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., Altoona.
