Irene Decker, 73, Altoona, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Carl A. and Mae J. (Morgan) Farber.
On Feb. 29, 1981, she married John Decker. He preceded her in death in May 2001.
She is survived by a daughter, Nichole Decker of Altoona; grandson, John Decker; siblings: Carol Hummel (Terry) of Jacksonville, Fla., Donald Farber (Suzanne) of Gross Pointe Farms, Mich., and Susan Smith of Roaring Spring; sister-in-law, Mona Walker; an uncle, Jim Deffibaugh (Kay); and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved cats, Oliver and Stuffing.
Irene worked as a registered nurse and retired in August 2016.
She enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., 719 N. Fourth Ave., Altoona.
