Herbert L. Wilt Sr., 75, Altoona, died Sunday evening at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Ira L. Sr. and Dorothy M. (Lafferty) Wilt.
He married Mary Louise Fogle on Oct. 14, 1967, at St. Rose of Lima Church, Altoona.
Surviving are his wife; three sons: Herb Jr., Steve and Timothy; seven grandchildren: Kayle, Braden, Cayden, JayCee, Rachel, Kris and Jonah; three stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, William A. Wilt (Donna); and a sister, Debra Clair (Ronald).
He was preceded in death by a son, Scott, on Feb. 27, 2025; and six siblings: Marlene Harris, Dorothy Mae Carbonetti, Janice Rhodes, Ira "Sonny" Wilt Jr., Cheryl Consalvo and Irene Arthur.
Herb worked for Penn Jacobson Fastener Corp. for 27 years, retiring in 2009. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
At Herb's request, there will be no public services.
