Stager

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Greg Stager, who died Friday at Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Greg was a devoted husband, a loving father and a good friend to many. His warmth, generosity, wisdom and quiet strength left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Marcia (Smith) Stager of Bald Eagle; and his three sons: Matthew Stager, Benjamin (Amelie) Stager and Adam Stager, all of Nashville, Tenn., who carry forward his legacy of love, creativity and kindness.

Greg was a proud 1985 graduate of Penn State University, earning his degree in electrical engineering in State College. He went on to build a lifelong career as an audio producer and sound engineer, combining strong technical expertise with a deep love and passion for all types of music. A talented musician himself, he played in a variety of bands over the years and was well known for his passion for quality sound production and lighting. As the owner of Knight Sound for the last 40 years, Greg has worked with countless professional and amateur musicians throughout western and central Pennsylvania and along the East Coast, helping bring their creative visions to life. His dedication to the craft and his generous spirit made him a beloved figure in the music community.

Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2025 at Feller Memorial Home, 817 W. 15th St., Tyrone, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2026, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 1105 Cameron Ave., Tyrone. A funeral Mass will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew’s.

The family would like to thank the Eighth Floor West staff at Montefiore Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of Greg during his brief stay there.

Greg’s legacy will live on in the music he helped create and in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
