Dorothy L. Hetzel, 84, of Altoona, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona after an extended illness. She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Paul Sr. and Florence (Vanderpool) Brantner.
Surviving are a daughter, Dana M. Clatterbaugh; a son, David H. Hetzel; sisters, Jean Barnes and Doris Barrett (Sam); a brother, Ronald Brantner (Linda); eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers: George, Bill, Merle, Robert, Phillip, Paul, Wayne and Harold; and two sisters, Mary and Darlene.
Dorothy was a wonderful mother and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Anthony P. Scaglione Funeral Home, 1908 Seventh Ave., Altoona, where a viewing will be held.
Interment at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
