Dorothy (Gutshall) Gehret, 92, formerly of Altoona, went to be with the Lord on Monday at Presbyterian Village in Hollidaysburg. She was the daughter of the late Benton and Grace (Price) Gutshall.
Dorothy married James R. Gehret Sr., who preceded her in death on June 30, 1999.
Surviving are four children: a daughter, Susan Parsons (Bruce) in Florida; three sons: William G. in North Carolina, James R. Jr. (Cindy) of Hollidaysburg and Cory (Shelley) of Altoona; eight grandchildren: Bruce Jr., Jamie, Travus, Kari, Lauren, Rachel, Mathew and Brady; and 19 great-grandchildren -- the joys of her life.
Dorothy was a 1951 graduate of Altoona High School and a former member of First United Methodist Church, Altoona.
She worked as an special education aide for Altoona Area High School and retired from Blair Medical Associates and Blair Gastroenterology, where she was a receptionist.
Dorothy was a volunteer at the Altoona Hospital and was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., 719 N. Fourth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. Barry M. Folmar officiating.
