Betty J. Dick

Betty J. Dick, 89, Roaring Spring, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Tyrone, the daughter of the late Betty J. Sprankle.

She married her late husband, Donald Paul Dick, on Aug. 1, 1955, in Winchester, Va. He died Nov. 4, 1983.

Surviving are her daughters, Patti Defibaugh and Donna Walters (Harold); three grandchildren: Brad Walters (Wendy), April Ostrander (Rickey) and Ashley Stringer (Richard); and five great-grandchildren: Alexis Robbins-Walters (Luke), Ryan Robbins (Jordan), Madison Stringer (Conner), Xander Stringer and Zack Stringer (Mason); and a brother, Dean Sprankle (Marsha).

She was preceded in death by four brothers: Pete, Gene, Bill and Bob Sprankle; a sister, Shirley Weaver; and her companion and special friend, John Reagan.

Betty was a faithful member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Roaring Spring.

She was a graduate of Altoona High School and the Altoona Beauty School and was a home health care worker at Nason Home Health for 10 years.

Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and also enjoyed her favorite shows, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public services. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Marty Jo Irvin-Stellabotte. Interment will be made at Holsinger Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty's memory may be given to the Roaring Spring Community Library, 320 E. Main St., Roaring Spring, PA 16673.
