Rachel Susan (Harshman) Wiggins
Wiggins
Rachel Susan (Harshman) Wiggins, Latrobe, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was raised in Tipton. She later moved to Texas, where she met the love of her life, Brandon Wiggins, and they were blessed with the births of their daughter, Dakota, and son, Cooper.
In addition to her husband and children, Rachel is survived by her beloved parents, Bill and Anne Harshman; a sister, Becki (Joe) Maurio; a brother, Jason (Sarah, Georgia, James) Harshman; and a sister, Sarah (Drew) James. She is also survived by a loving extended family.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Harshman.
Rachel lived her life by the motto that we are not called to hide our lights under a bushel basket, but rather to shine that light for all to see (Matthew 5:15). It was with this approach that she was able to touch lives, shining God’s light through dark times.
She loved tent camping with her family in the Laurel Highlands, reading historical fiction and gardening with herbs and “riotous vines.” When she wasn’t doing these things, she enjoyed spending time watching soccer and dabbling in arts and crafts.
In lieu of flowers, Rachel asked that you consider a donation to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy (www.waterlandlife.org)
and a kind deed for a stranger. Contributions to support her children’s future endeavors can be directed to Brandon Wiggins.
Family and friends will be received for a memorial visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Frederick Funeral Home Inc., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Holy Family Church, 1200 Ligonier St., Latrobe, Father George Saletrik, celebrant. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Private burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Latrobe.
