Philip G. Weber Jr., 95, also known as "Snook," of Fuoss Mills, died early Thursday morning. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Philip G. Sr. and Helen M. (Hassinger) Weber.
He was twice married, first to Peggy A. Jones on Nov. 1, 1952. She preceded him in death Jan. 12, 1995. He then married Betty J. (Bowser) Curley on April 10, 1996.
Surviving are his wife, Betty; a daughter, Linda A. Weber of Fuoss Mills; four grandchildren: Stephanie Weber Harader, Benjamin M. Weber, Kyle A. Weber and Julie N. Weber; five great-grandchildren; five stepsons: Roy, Douglas, Darrell, Roger and Chris Curley; 16 stepgrandchildren; and 38 stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Mark S. and Gary P. Weber; two stepsons, Preston and Randy Curley; and a foster brother, Ralph E. Halbritter.
Philip was a 1947 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. In 1993, he retired as a lineman at Bell Telephone Co.
He was a former member of Faith Alliance Church, Fuoss Mills.
Philip enjoyed hunting, camping and doing jigsaw puzzles. He also enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of Penn State football and Altoona Curve baseball. He volunteered his time during various functions through Bell Telephone.
Philip built his home where he lived, in Fuoss Mills. He loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his many grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2025, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in Philip's memory be made to Operation Heal Our Patriots c/o Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
