Mary Joan (Springer) Hoover, 92, Patton, passed away Sunday. She was born in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Edward Leard and Florence Springer.
Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Francis W. Hoover; son, Gerald F. Hoover of Cherryhill, N.J.; twin sister, Marita Springer Farabaugh of Kalkaska, Mich.; and 11 other siblings.
She is survived by a son, David L. Hoover of Johnstown; daughters, Dianne (Hoover) Weber (Dr. George F. Weber) of Patton and Sharon (Hoover) Evans (Tye Martin) of Euless, Texas; grandchildren: Dr. Douglas R. Weber (Dr. Elizabeth A. Martin) of State College, Matthew J. Weber (Michaella Burton) of San Diego, Calif., and Kelsi S. Evans of Euless, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Logan F. Weber and Cora R. Weber of State College.
Mary graduated from Carrolltown High School and worked at Penn Gables and Patton Box Factory. She also cared for the elderly.
She was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother "Memaw."
Mary had a great sense of humor and enjoyed dancing and music, decorating, cooking, baking and talking with friends.
The family would like to thank friends and loved ones for their prayers and kindness towards Mary and all of her caregivers.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
