John Henry Brinkmiller

Nov. 24, 1942 – April 25, 2025

John Henry Brinkmiller, 82, of Palm Harbor, Fla., formerly of Altoona, passed away April 25, 2025, surrounded by beloved family at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, cherished son of the late Fred and Wally Brinkmiller.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Fred.

John dedicated himself early in life to serving his country with a brief tenure in the reserves.

Following his military service, he had a successful career as manager of the Labor Relations Department at Conrail -- first in Columbus, Ohio, and later in Altoona.

John married the love of his life, Kathleen, on Sept. 18, 1971. They started their family a few years later, raising their daughters, Donia and Elizabeth, in the Catholic Church. They spent over 53 years traveling and enjoying life together.

John was deeply passionate about his faith and was actively involved in his church.

He adored his grandchildren: Eden, Nate, Taylor and Jade; and his great-grandson, Rylan. John loved spending time with them and taught them unconditional love and countless life skills.

An avid golfer, John eventually moved to Florida, where he could enjoy his passion daily. He made lifelong friends there and deeply cherished those relationships. John will forever be loved and missed by his family and friends.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 312 Clark St., Hollidaysburg.
