Joan Marie Charles, 74, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Altoona, passed away May 13, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Lawrence) Pomputius.
Surviving are her husband, Edward C. Charles; three sons: Tim Wesner (Noreen), Marlin Charles and Jeffery Charles; five grandchildren: Brittan, Julie and Logan Wesner, Necole Garhart (Tyler) and Nathen (Hanna) Charles; four great-grandchildren: Anjelix, Dorian, Alexandria and Oliver; two brothers, Frank of Johnstown and John (Cindy) of Indiana, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Peter.
Joan graduated from Bishop Guilfoyle High School and worked at Butterick Co. Inc. from 1969 to 2002.
She enjoyed going on cruises (19, in fact), the beach and the sun, and traveling from coast to coast.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025, at The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona.
