Harry Emanuel Duey Jr., 91, of Tyrone, died Sunday, at Penn Highlands, Tyrone. He was born in Tyrone, son of the late Harry E. Sr. and Edna Zenovia (Wills) Duey.
On Oct. 25, 1953, he married Josephine M. Drasal, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by their children: Debra Semple (William) and Lisa Sue Duey of Virginia Beach, Va., and Lael (Anitra Renee) of Tyrone; 10 grandchildren: Ariel Adkins Sealy, Joshua Duey, Echo Semple, Seth Semple, Micaylee Duey, Zenovia Duey, Caleb Duey, Isabella Duey, Zadok Duey and Michael Duey; great-
grandchildren: Adelaide, Archer, Brooklyn, Isaiah, Titus, Naomi and Nadia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Adkins; and a son, Harry E. "Hank" Duey III. Harry was the last of his immediate family.
He graduated from Tyrone High School in 1952 and was a member of Bible Baptist Church as a longtime dedicated Deacon.
Harry was retired but never stopped working. He founded Duey Paving and Asphalt Co. in 1953. He loved machinery and was able to fix almost anything. He loved his antique Model A and Model T Fords and his Hit and Miss Engines. He enjoyed music and taught himself to play various instruments. Harry had a special love for the Steel Guitar, and he never forgot to constantly read his Bible.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2025, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone; and from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at noon Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Tyrone Bible Baptist Church, with Pastor Ken Patterson officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
