Karns

Beverly A. Karns, 86, formerly of Roaring Spring, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare. She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Roy and Irene (Thomas) Delozier.

She is survived by her two daughters, Elise A. Evans of Martinsburg and Gail R. Bispo and husband, William, of Hollidaysburg. Beverly also had a special bond with her granddaughter, Alisha Karns; and a great-granddaughter, Kiana Karns. She had five grandchildren: Scott Harclerode, Alisha Karns, Joanne Claire, Erica Evans and Lucas Bispo; 15 great-grandchildren; and was blessed with a great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by four brothers: Roy Delozier Jr., Wilford "Willy" Delozier, Clair Delozier and infant, Donald Lee Delozier; and four sisters: Ruth L. Chadwell, Darlene Scott, Freda Manspeaker and Betty Amick.

Beverly's life was marked by love, creativity and a deep-rooted connection to her family and faith. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her love for children allowed her to work with them as a Brownie leader for many years and a housemother with Grier School in Tyrone for over 15 years before retiring. She found joy in writing poetry and stories and had worked for Blair Press and the Morrisons Cove Herald.

A Celebration of Life will be held by her family at a later date. Arrangements are by the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring.

Contributions in Beverly's memory may be given to the Roaring Spring Community Library or Samaritan's Purse.
