With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mary B. (Mock) Kopilchak, who passed away peacefully after a brief illness. Mary was born in Port Matilda, daughter of the late James and Thelma Fink.
In 1954, she married Glen Mock and together they welcomed six children. As a strong and resilient woman, Mary raised her children as a single mother working a variety of jobs over the years to support her family with unwavering love and dedication.
She is survived by her children: Glen (Sonya) Mock, Karen (Jim) Coble, Marjorie (Randy) Yon, William Mock and
Richard (Noriko) Mock; a son-in-law, Ray Serben; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her extended family members and friends; all of whom will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Deborah Serben, on Jan. 30, 2025.
Mary later married Steve Kopilchak on Oct. 20, 2005, and they shared many happy years together before his passing on Sept. 7, 2013.
In her later years, she found companionship, joy and love with her partner, Ernie Eckley, who remained a devoted presence in her life.
Mary will be remembered for her strength, warmth and deep love for her family. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, determination and grace.
A private memorial service will be held by her family at a later date.
