Linda E. (Eicher) Piedmont, 85, of Rochester, N.Y., died Saturday in Highland Hospital. She was born in Imler, Pa., daughter of the late Calvin D. Eicher and Elizabeth “Betty” Jane (Hoover) Eicher. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Smith; and brothers, Alex and Larry Eicher.

On Jan. 19, 1962, in Raleigh, N.C., Linda married her husband of 63 years, Peter C. Piedmont. He survives at home.

Linda was raised in Imler, Pa., and attended Greenfield-Kimmel High School, Class of 1958, in Claysburg. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education in 1962 from Lock Haven University. She taught at Greenfield-Kimmel, Bald Eagle-Nittany and Lock Haven School Districts in Pennsylvania, teaching elementary students during the 1960s and 1970s, prior to moving to Rochester, N.Y., when her husband began work at Eastman Kodak Co.

She resided in Guadalajara, Mexico, for two years with her husband and children after they were offered an international work assignment for Kodak. During this time, she served on the school board for the bilingual Kennedy Elementary School their children attended.

She was a member of Irondequoit United Church of Christ, Irondequoit, N.Y. She had many creative interests and enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, macrame, painting on various media, as well as road trips, reading and movies. She liked preparing food and desserts for family gatherings and enjoyed time spent with her children and their families and being an all-loving “Grammy” to her grandchildren.

Linda will be missed by her husband and family: a daughter, Jade (George) Easton of Honeoye Falls, N.Y.; sons, Chad of Irondequoit, N.Y., and Drey (Ashly) of Henrietta, N.Y.; grandkids: Taryn, Amber and Saige Piedmont, Michael Benigni, Jake and Whitley Easton and Hayes and Jayce Piedmont; brothers, Brad and Brock Eicher of Imler; daughter-in-law, Theresa Hart of Rochester, N.Y.; brother-in-law, James Smith of Lilly; and sisters-in-law: Marilyn Eicher of Livermore, Calif.; Esther Kramer (William) of Flemington, Pa.; and Mary Richner (Jerry) of Williamsport; and nieces and nephews.

There was no public visitation. A private graveside service was held at Romola Christian Cemetery, Curtin Township, Pa., with Pastor Russel Moldovan, Blanchard Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements were by Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Lock Haven.
