Lena Perehinec Sobota, 98, Sankertown, passed away Saturday at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona.
She was born in Sankertown, daughter of the late Jimmy and Rose (Bernard) Renno.
Surviving are her children, Linda McConnell, Joe (Jan) Perehinec, Frank (Lori) Perehinec, Mike (Sue) Perehinec and Mark (Maria) Perehinec; stepchildren, Gary Sobota, Lisa Sobota and Jeremy Sobota; 12 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Perehinec and Rege Sobota; a stepson, Michael Sobota; and a son-in-law, Pat McConnell. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Lena was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Cresson.
At her request, there will be no viewing. A Gathering of Friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin. Interment will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Cresson.
