Eric J. "Dif" Eckenrode, 51, Carrolltown, passed away at home Tuesday. He was born in Spangler, the son of Alfred and Mary Virginia "Ginger" (Brown) Eckenrode.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Karen Grigg and Judi Shero.
He is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Stacey (Moore) Eckenrode; children: Kevin Bertram of Salt Lake City, Utah, Cooper "Poop" Eckenrode of Carrolltown and Elena "Bubz" Eckenrode of Carrolltown; siblings: Raymond (Amy) Eckenrode of Cape Coral, Fla., Eileen (Dave) Foster of Columbia, Md., Amy (Don) Clayton in North Carolina, Rebecca (Rick) Eckenrode of Carrolltown, John Eckenrode of Carrolltown, Jenny (John) Fees of Carrolltown and Scott (Kathy) Eckenrode of Carrolltown; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Judith and John Moore of Colver; brother-in-law, David (Jill) Moore of Ebensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eric was a 1991 graduate of Cambria Heights High School and worked as a truck driver for Abarta Coca-Cola.
He was a member of the Carrolltown American Legion.
Eric was a fan of Penn State, Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. He enjoyed running, making music, playing guitar, watching Breaking Bad and Seinfeld and spending time with family and friends.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2025, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, with Father Michael Gabler OSB, celebrant.
Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home Inc., Carrolltown.
