Douglas "Clair" Brumbaugh, 83, Hollidaysburg, died Wednesday in Tyrone.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Fred and Ruth (Showalter) Brumbaugh.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Fred.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon (Nycum) of Hollidaysburg; son, Craig (Claudine) of Brea, Calif.; and daughter, Lori (Darren Crabtree) of Hollidaysburg. Clair is also survived by five grandsons: Drew, Ryan and Brandon Brumbaugh and Timothy (Mara)
and Jacob Crabtree; a granddaughter, Tori Crabtree; and a great-grandson, Jack Crabtree. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Clair was a graduate of Roaring Spring High School; Indiana University of Pennsylvania (business/accounting); and the University of Southern California (master of business taxation).
He started his career with PriceWaterhouse and worked in their Pittsburgh and New York City locations. Clair moved his family to Fullerton, Calif., in the late 1970s and worked as a tax executive for Carter Hawley Hale for over 20 years. Clair finished his career at the Internal Revenue Service.
Clair was patriotic and served as a medic for the Army National Guard Reserve (Pittsburgh).
Clair was a family man and loved spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He was supportive and caring. His focus on their well-being never wavered.
Clair was a faithful Christian. He had a passion for music and participated in church choirs from an early age into later years of life. He was an accomplished trumpet player.
Clair and his wife enjoyed participating in charity work. They volunteered for the Children's League of Fullerton for over a decade.
Clair was an avid sports fan and athlete. He enjoyed tennis, running and going to the gym.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Altoona Full Gospel Church, 120 Roswell St., Altoona.
Arrangements are by Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona.
