Donna Marie DelBiondo's story began in Altoona, where she was born to Vincent and Marie (Ramsey) Weld, both of whom preceded her in death. Donna was a graduate of Altoona Area High School and worked at the Blair County Courthouse for 38 years, but found her greatest joy in the family she built and cherished.
On Aug. 29, 1959, she married Eugene "Mickey" DelBiondo, and together they enjoyed many years of love, long drives and memorable trips, especially to the Outer Banks, their favorite getaway.
Donna's greatest pride was her role as mom, grandma and Dede. She is survived by three daughters: Nisa (Bob) Porta, Gina (Blaine) Barefoot and Donna Lee (John) Miller; her legacy lives on through her grandchildren:
Brandon, Ryan, Troy, Johnny, Rachel, Shawn, Brittany, Daniel and John; and her great-grandchildren: Hunter, Noah, Payton, Quinn, Rylan, Corrine, Landon, Harper, Lilly, Brynnlee, Hadley and Grayson. She is also survived by a sister, Annette Bryant.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Nick Higginbotham, whose memory continues with the family.
Donna loved sitting by the pool with a good book, but even more, she loved seeing her yard and home full of family and laughter. She was a loyal, and often loud, cheerleader at games, concerts and performances.
Though small in stature, Donna's presence was large. Her blue-eyed glances, snappy remarks and steady love left an unforgettable mark on all who knew her.
Well done, Donna, you created a village of love. We've got it from here 'til we meet again.
A celebration of Donna's life will be held at a later date.
