David T. Rossbach Sr.

Feb. 23, 1947 – May 9, 2025

David T. Rossbach Sr., 78, Altoona, passed away unexpectedly Friday after sustaining injuries in an automobile accident.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Wilbert E. and Margaret M. (Wehrle) Rossbach.

Surviving are his children, David Rossbach Jr., Joseph Rossbach and wife, Kendra, and Heather Buckreis and husband, Justin; four grandchildren: Christopher Shannon, Kirsten (Max) Adams, and Michael and Jacob Buckreis; two great-grandchildren, Kinley Reece and Clara Adams; and a brother, Larry Rossbach.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kathleen A. Rossbach; and a brother, Bruce Rossbach.

David was an U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, earning the rank of Specialist 4. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, where he served as a Eucharistic minister. He worked as a pipefitter for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 354.

He was a season ticket holder with the Altoona Curve. He enjoyed watching baseball and was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams. David also enjoyed collecting coins.

Friends and family will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Rose Hill Funeral & Cremation Care Inc., Altoona. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, Monsignor Stanley Carson, celebrant. Committal will be in Calvary Cemetery, Altoona. Military honors will be provided by the Blair County Honor Guard.
