Thomas Edward Myers II, 53, of Altoona, passed away at UPMC Altoona Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Altoona, a son of Thomas E. and Carol (Vaughn) Myers.

He is survived by his parents of Loretto; his three sons: Thomas E. Myers III of Northern Cambria, Jude Michael Myers of College Station, Texas, and Jase Richard Myers of Colver; and their mother, Lori (Lapinsky) Myers of Colver. Also surviving are his longtime companion, Heather Boone of Altoona; and her children, Cory Alan and Trisha Merle; and grandchildren, Jaxson and Evlyn; brothers and sisters: Susan (Karl) Lee of Loretto, Patrick (Sue) Myers of Hollidaysburg, Sandy (Jeff) Banfield, Daniel (Barb) Myers and Frank Myers, all of Gallitzin, and Michael (Aimee) Myers of Nanty Glo.

A graduate of Bishop Carroll High School, Tom was an All-State Football player in his high school years.

Tom had a passion for cars. He owned and operated the former Buzzy’s Auto Sales in Newry and served as a car salesman at Fiore’s as well as Dean Patterson’s. Additionally, he enjoyed classic rock music, time spent on his boat, his beloved Steelers and Pirates, his cat “Butters” and dog “Trooper” (and all the pets that preceded them) and spending time with his family. Tom was also the president of TOPS, Altoona Chapter.

Tom had a very giving heart and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

At his request, there will be no viewing. A private memorial service for the immediate family will be held at their convenience, with Father Brian Warchola officiating.

Arrangements are in the care of the Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin.
