Robert E. Pleva, 73, of Hollidaysburg, was finally able to join his wife of 50 years, Karen, in Heaven on Tuesday at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Bob was born in Altoona, son of the late Frank J. and Rose Marie (Kolarczyk) Pleva.
His wife, Karen A. Maier, whom he married on Oct. 28, 1972, preceded him in death on March 18, 2023.
Surviving are his children, Jill (Gary) Dodson and Matthew (Shelley) Pleva; two grandchildren, Blake and Luke Pleva; and a brother, Rusty (Mary Ann). Bob had many brothers and sisters-in-law; as well as nieces and nephews.
Bob worked his way up in Bill Campbell's business at Hoss's to become vice president of operations. He was employed for 44 years.
He had many friends and everyone lucky enough to know Bob loved him. He loved to having a good time and making everyone laugh. Bob enjoyed going to his beach house with family and friends. He liked to keep busy, always having a project, earning him his name, "Busy Bob."
After his wife passed, his childhood friend, John, supported him through this most difficult time and encouraged Bob to keep going.
There are no words to express how much Bob will be missed by his family and friends. Our hearts are comforted by the thought he is back with his wife, Karen, where they can be together forever.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family by Father Michael Pleva. Inurnment will be at Ss. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery Perpetual Care Endowment, c/o Independent Catholic Foundation, 3618 Fifth Ave., Suite 1, Altoona, PA 16602.
