Raymond James Adams

He was born in Altoona, son of Robert and Frances (Cupples) Adams.

He attended Cathedral School and Bishop Guilfoyle High School in Altoona. On May 24, 1975, he was united in marriage to Margaret Boring.

Surviving are his wife; five children: Charlotte Adams (David Morgan), Aaron Adams (Connie Prince), Jennifer Tremitiere (Daniel Tremitiere), Raymond Adams Jr. (Sara Guyer) and Margaret Leonard (Chris Leonard, deceased). He was the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren: Naomi Morgan, Charlie Morgan, Renee Morgan, Pilar Adams, Jack Adams, Emily Adams, Reese Tremitiere, Daniel Jayden Tremitiere, Victoria Adams, Lily Rae Adams and Jacob Leonard; a great-grandson, Ambrose Leonard; and a sister, Mary Harris (Jesse Harris).

He was preceded in death by his sister, Kaye; and a brother, Robert.

He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 29 years of service.

Ray was a loving husband and father who always put his family at the forefront. He loved fishing and gardening, but most of all, he loved shelling at the beach. He was a devout Catholic who attended St. Andrew Church in Cape Coral, Fla., and St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church in Altoona.

He will be missed by family and friends. Arrangements will be made at the convenience of the family.
