Mary Esther Poorman, 89, of Altoona, went to be with the Lord on Sunday at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, after an extended illness. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Dorothy Schroth.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Huber Oswalt and Kenneth Poorman Sr.
Surviving is a daughter, Wendy Baker (Tim); four sons: Mike Oswalt, Dave Oswalt (Barb), Kenneth Poorman Jr. (Linda) and Randy Poorman; five sisters: Donna, Ruth, Deborah, Beverly and Theresa; a brother, Louie; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mary was also preceded in death by two sisters, Iva Jean and Edna; and a brother, Butch.
She was a member of Simpson Temple United Methodist Church.
Mary was an avid bowler for many years and a lifetime member of the Bavarian Aid Society.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Anthony P. Scaglione Funeral Home, 1908 Seventh Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
