Martin J. Lechner Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife; a son, Martin J. Lechner Jr. (Sara) of Greensboro, N.C., a daughter, Teresa-Marie Thomas (Justin) of Gallitzin; four grandchildren: Calvin, Willa, Nora and Wren; two brothers, Bill Lechner (Debbie) and Bob Lechner (Shelly), all of Altoona; a sister, LouAnn Stambaugh of Altoona; a sister-in-law, Victoria Hesser; a brother-in-law, Lawrence Hesser; and many nieces, nephews and good neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his brother, George Lechner.

Marty was a graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School and attended Mansfield University.

He retired as a salesman for Imler’s Poultry and previously was general manager of B and B Wholesalers.

Marty was a coach for many youth sports teams, and he loved animals, auto racing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Stevens Memorial Chapel, by Father Lubomir Strecok.

Committal will be at Blair Memorial Park.
