Elaine Marie Burk, 80, Altoona, passed away peacefully on Saturday at her residence.
She was the beloved daughter of the late James Albert Wolfe and the late Genevieve Amelia (Podurski) Wolfe.
On July 27, 1974, Elaine married her soulmate and love of her life, Larry Chester Burk, marking the beginning of a beautiful marriage centered on love, family, laughter and cherished memories.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Burk; and her siblings: Herman Wolfe, Edward Wolfe and Ruth (Wolfe) Gourley.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Burk) McCleave.
A 1962 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School, Elaine went on to earn her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed by Mercy Hospital/Bon Secours as an emergency department registered nurse for over 40 years, working her way up to the position of nurse manager.
Elaine's greatest loves were her family and her pets, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She and her husband also enjoyed cruises, casino trips, camping, boating, fishing and visiting national parks.
Friends will be received from 4 until the 7 p.m. funeral service Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona.
In honor of Elaine's love of animals, the family suggests that memorial donations please be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 East Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602; or to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, PO Box 98, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
