Dayne L. Thomas, 87, Dover, Ohio, passed away Monday at Aultman Hospital, Canton, Ohio.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Dayne L. and Anna (Siegler) Thomas.
Dayne leaves behind his family, including his wife, Rachel (Ickes) Thomas; his son, Dayne (Angie) Thomas of Bolivar; grandchildren: Megan (Andrew) Floor, Dayne (Ashley) Thomas, Abigail (partner, Brian Kern) Thomas, Catherine (Val) Thomas, Richard Thomas, Gavin Thomas and Mariana Thomas; great-grandchildren, Sullivan and Ian Floor; a daughter-in-law, Heather Thomas; and numerous stepchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife of 49 years, the late Elaine (Weaver) Thomas, on Jan. 1, 2015; his sons, David and Matthew Thomas; and his infant daughter, Ann Thomas.
Dayne enjoyed a career with United Airlines, working in both Cleveland and Denver. He was an active former member of the St. Joseph Seniors and worshiped at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover.
A passionate traveler, Dayne had the remarkable experience of visiting every continent except Antarctica. He especially enjoyed cruising and spending winters in Puerto Vallarta. He was also an avid fisherman, with a deep fondness for casting a line on Lake Erie.
No public services are scheduled. Inurnment will be held in Lorain, Ohio, at a later date.
