Thomas J. Matko Sr., 83, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday at his residence. He was born in Coalport, son of the late Evan and Anna (Zupon) Matko.
Thomas married Anne Hewitt in 1962.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years; a son, Tom Jr., and wife, Lisa; two granddaughters, Erica and Ally; and a great-grandson, Ty, all of Hollidaysburg.
He was preceded in death by a son, Joe, in 1996; and grandson, Nick, in 2022.
Tom owned and operated Tom Matko Refuse Service and was a member of the VFW Post 7034.
He enjoyed traveling with his family, going to sporting events and spending time at the family camp.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2025, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the funeral home, with Father Alan E. Thomas, Celebrant.
Private interment will be at New St. Mary Cemetery.
