Susan I. (Wilt) Painter, 72, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday at UPMC Shadyside. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Edwin and Margaret (Greiner) Wilt. She married Wally Painter in 2000.
Surviving are her husband of 24 years; numerous grandchildren; a brother, Michael W. Wilt (Jennifer); and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Wilt II.
Susan graduated from Hollidaysburg High School, and later graduated from the University of Pittsburgh.
She was a school teacher for 30 years in the Catholic school system.
Susan was a member and vice-regent of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Our Lady of the Alleghenies Court #1755, and was a member of Connie's Collectible's quilting club. She was the Judge of Precinct 3 for the borough of Hollidaysburg.
She was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Susan enjoyed sewing and quilting and loved her cats very much.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg.
Private interment at Alto Reste Park.
