John E. Scott, 83, Altoona, died Sunday. He was born in Mary D, son of the late John F. and Florence (Valentine) Scott. Surviving are his wife, Brenda; his children: Rae Lynne Tonkin, Leslie Martz, John Scott, Kerrin Lutz, Mark Hott, Shannon Long and Melissa Long; 19 grandchildren, with two on the way; and 21 great-grandchildren, with one on the way. He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Hott. John was a U.S. Army veteran. There will be no services at this time. Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary Inc., Altoona.
